Do you feel overwhelmed? Have you ever felt overwhelmed with your fertility journey?
For many of us the feeling of overwhelm is something we may be accustomed to when at work. But at work we tend to know how to deal with it. We go and speak to a boss, we take on fewer projects, less work. We talk to our team.
But when it comes to our mission to have a baby there is so much that we’re told we ‘should’ do:
– Charting temperature – Tracking ovulation – Supplements
– Eat the right foods
– Achieve optimum weight
– Chinese herbs
– Exercise – but not too strenuously
– No alcohol
– Have sex; a lot
– And more
I would have happily tried a headstand whilst juggling bananas with my feet if I’d been told it would help.
It’s no wonder it can be overwhelming.
What can be done to ease this feeling of overwhelm?
Try writing a list of every single thing you have ever done to aid your mission to have a baby. Then look at the list, and just going with your gut feeling (and not overthinking) put a cross through everything that makes you shudder at the thought of it and everything that you believe doesn’t help at all.
Then consider stopping them. It may feel scary at first but it can be so liberating. And can help eliminate overwhelm.
